Why in Indiana is the ‘best’ state out there…

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Now before you form the lynch mob, hear me out – ok?

I love New York City, but I don’t quite yet have a fondness for the state of New York, so it’s ok for now…

I have often proclaimed Indiana as the best out there and I haven’t had an opportunity to put my money where my mouth is.

So here it is…

Indiana is now home to The World’s Oldest Person. That’s pretty amazing. Enjoy it Hoosier Heartland!

Top that, Alabama, Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York (Okay, there’s a soft spot in my heart for ya NY), North Carolina, North Dakota, Northern Marianas Islands, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Virgin Islands, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming

PSA: Hurricanes in New York

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Living in New York you take calculated risks. When I first moved to the City, I knew I wasn’t going to be ‘in Kansas anymore’. One of the calculated risks you take is the fact that New York City is a coastal city on the Atlantic seaboard and that we are vulnerable to Hurricanes, it even happened almost a century ago.

I would encourage all New Yorkers to prepare for the possibility, by heading OEM’s well-prepared advice. Also, check your house/apartment to see if it is in a hurricane evacuation zone and find the closest proposed shelter.

Bogopolis.com encourages everybody to take notice and prepare (especially if you were born in land-locked areas).

And the days go on…

Monday, August 6th, 2007

Living in New York City is hard, but in addition to dealing with 8 million other people, being a New Yorker involves having to say goodbye to friends and parting ways – New York City is in fact a transient city.

I’d like to send out props to five people who are awesome in their own right and will be missed.

Jasmine and Aaron - you guys were awesome – I enjoyed the time we were able to spend together. Good luck with the new family and the job in Phoenix – You Rock!

Jeannie, Sarah, and Brian – well, what can I say – it was fun, much fun. You need to move back someday – you guys fit in so well. Good luck and I can’t wait until you come back and visit. Maybe the Burger Joint will be open when you come back – my treat.

It’s hard living in a place where people come and go, but it’s all about being a part of a ‘community of strangers’ (Aaron G. – 8/2/07).

Stay Cool.
