You all – I love sharing life with you, sharing my humor, thoughts, and commentary. I hope one day to have a list a mile long of the defining moments in my life that I am extremely proud of. One of those moments – that I know changed my life forever – occurred (or began) on February 22nd, 2005, during what ended up being my last winter in Indiana. I’ve been spending sometime over the last couple of years ‘documenting’ my journey, so I don’t forget the good times I’ve had and the challenges I’ve faced and (hopefully) have overcome. Enjoy this selection, a ‘rare’ treat of Bogopolis.com.

From my hands, a very different blog, a blog of personal reflection:

Umbrellas NOT Allowed

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

I don’t like to bring up previous rants, but I feel I must.

Umbrellas are not appropriate apparel for snow showers, I honestly don’t care how wet it is – it irks me when I see umbrellas for something other than snow – it is simply defeating the original purpose of the umbrella.

Please see our guidelines about using umbrellas:

Rain – Umbrellas
Snow – Winter jacket, gloves, scarf, thick hat, etc, etc.

Seriously, get with the program on this, folks!

The Good Lord is working overtime in the media sector today…

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Forgive, the sacrilege, but this is indeed good news:

The Wall Street Journal reports via LostRemote.com is reporting that Yahoo will not accept Microsoft’s buyout offer.

..”Would Microsoft go hostile? Unlikely, as that would cause “deep resentment” among the rank-and-file engineers, the Journal reports. And Yahoo has taken the “poison pill” provision to help prevent a hostile takeover…

Interesting

For those that don’t care about this stuff, move along to the bottom posts – nothing to see here.

Praise the Lord! :: The writer’s strike is almost over!

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

The writer’s strike could be over! Writer’s could return to work as early as Monday – check out LostRemote.com for more info.

Could this mean that Lost can air a full (second-to-last) season.

Red-Letter Christians:

This movement was initiated by authors Tony Campolo and Jim Wallis who felt the Religious Right spend too much time on two issues: abortion and homosexuality. They believe Christians should be promoting biblical values such as peace, building strong families, the elimination of poverty, and other important social issues.

Something new? I don’t think so.

Updated: to add video from The Colbert Report.

It takes a brave man…

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

It takes a brave man to admit the following:

SpongBob SquarePants is sadistically, addictive television program.

I was at the laundromat this morning, dropping off my laundry, as per usual, when I noticed that SpongeBob was on. I’ve always thought SpongeBob was a funny show for kids – I can make that assessment because I’m a kid at heart – but I’ve always considered it a very annoying television show.

My friend Perry, from college, has always considered SpongeBob something of evil – I’m beginning to believe him.
